There are several million homeschooled students in grades K-12 in the United States. Homeschooling is a growing trend here and in other countries around the world, such as Australia, Canada, France, Hungary, Japan, Kenya, Russia, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.

Homeschool students represent a huge savings for taxpayers. The homeschool family, like everyone else, pays their taxes that fund the public schools but does not rely on government funding and intervention for their chosen teaching and learning materials.

In some states, the government regulates homeschooling. However, studies have shown that these regulations do not relate to academic achievement. In fact, homeschooled students score on average well above public schooled students on academic achievement tests without government regulation and control. It has also been shown that these test scores are no indication of household income or their parents’ level of education.
